Key Responsibilities
Fire Risk Assessment
Identify potential fire hazards across plants, buildings and operational areas.
Conduct regular fire and safety inspections.
Assess workplace risks and recommend appropriate preventive measures.
Monitor compliance with established fire prevention practices.
Fire Safety & Emergency Management
Develop, implement and enforce fire safety procedures and emergency response protocols.
Ensure readiness for emergencies such as fire, chemical spillage, accidents and evacuation.
Respond promptly to emergency situations and coordinate appropriate response activities.
Support emergency preparedness and evacuation planning.
Fire Protection Equipment
Inspect and monitor fire alarms, fire extinguishers, hydrants, sprinklers and other fire protection systems.
Ensure fire safety equipment remains operational and accessible.
Coordinate maintenance, inspection and testing of fire protection systems.
Maintain relevant inspection and maintenance records.
Training & Fire Drills
Conduct regular fire drills and emergency evacuation exercises.
Educate employees and workers about fire prevention and emergency procedures.
Promote awareness of safe working practices.
Support safety induction and other workplace safety training activities.
Compliance Monitoring
Ensure compliance with applicable local, national and industry fire safety regulations.
Maintain safety-related records and documentation.
Support internal inspections, audits and regulatory requirements.
Ensure employees and workers follow the applicable PPE requirements.
Environmental & Plant Monitoring
Carry out regular environmental and safety monitoring within the plant.
Maintain appropriate records of inspection and monitoring activities.
Coordinate with relevant departments regarding safety and environmental observations.
PPE & Workplace Safety
Implement and monitor the PPE matrix for employees, contractors and other workers.
Ensure appropriate personal protective equipment is used in designated areas.
Identify unsafe conditions and coordinate corrective actions.
Promote a strong safety culture across the workplace.
Desired Candidate Profile
Relevant experience in Fire Safety, Industrial Safety or EHS.
Experience in Chemical / Petrochemical / Distillery industries will be preferred.
Experience in manufacturing environments such as Distillery, Sugar, Tyre, Rubber, Plastic or Polymer industries may also be relevant.
Qualification such as 10+2 with Science, Fire Safety/EHS Diploma or B.Sc. may be considered as specified in the recruitment information.
Good knowledge of fire safety systems and emergency response procedures.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Good observation, attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work effectively during emergency situations.
Willingness to work in challenging industrial environments and follow required safety procedures.
